Sometimes, a nursing career can mean dressing up as the Easter bunny as a way to pass along smiles instead of medication.

For Patricia Chiquet, a Louisiana resident and veteran nurse at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center, she did just that, DailyComet.com reports.

"I wanted to find a way of making people happy," Chiquet told the news provider. "It's all been good. The responses of people have been amazing. I never thought a $99 bunny suit would make so many people smile."

Chiquet's holiday antics have become so popular that she has becoming a minor celebrity in her hometown with various bookings at schools, day care centers and nursing homes, according to the article. At these events, the 43-year-old nurse poses for photographs and hands out "goodies," which she does without an appearance fee or putting in for any sort of overtime.

The nurse says she's enjoyed her experience and is looking to expand her reach with a duck costume, which may allow her to make appearances throughout the year.

A nursing career can give you access to different kinds of patients and may offer you creative ways to provide care, be it medical or emotional. If you're interested in making personal connections through your job, this may be your cue to look into entering a program at a nursing school.
